The months of November, April – May are renown rainy seasons and hence come with a benefit of discounted gorilla permits in Uganda’s Bwindi national park and Mgahinga national park. Within the above periods, the gorilla permit is discounted to $450 from $600 normal rate. This is a marketing strategy introduced by the Uganda Wildlife Auhtority (UWA), inorder to encourage ravellers to come visit gorillas in Uganda, even during the rainny seasons so as to maintain a general tourists flow all year round in the country
Uganda Wildlife Authority in conjunction with Gorilla Trek Africa continues to offer discounted gorilla permits in Uganda or low season Gorilla permits. Gorilla permits in 2017 will still be at USD450 per person for foreign none residents and USD400.00 for east African residents holding working permits for Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda and Burundi.
Uganda has a lot of attractions like the beautiful National Parks, Source of the Nile, Rwenzori and Elgon Mountains, Lake Victoria and many more others together with relative stability and infrastructural development.
Tourists are encouraged to take advantage of the months November, April and May as accommodation rates also tend to go down thus lowering the general price of a gorilla safari in Uganda. However, it is said that some tourists have been influenced to think that this discount is only in months when it is raining highly making gorilla trekking a bit tough. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in a high altitude area with tropical rain forests and its climate is influenced by a number of factors including the winds from the Congo thus receives rainfall throughout the whole year and it can rain every after 30 minutes irrespective of whether it is a dry or rainy season.
