4 Days Rwanda Tour involving gorilla tracking & Golden monkeys(Cercopithecus Kandti), now listed by the IUCN as endangered because of their small numbers.
This safari takes you to Volcanoes national park located in the north of Rwanda where about 300 mountain gorillas live. There are ten habituated gorilla families – each of the groups allows up to 8 visitors per day
- Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes NP
- Day 2: Golden monkey trekking or Dian fossey hike
- Day 3: Gorilla trekking and cultural walk
- Day 4: Kigali city tour and Departure
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes NP
On arrival, you will be welcomed by our representative who will transfer you to Volcanoes national park situated in the north western part of Rwanda- the land of a thousand miles. Arrive in the park for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Mountain gorilla view lodge (Luxury)/ La Palme Hotel (Deluxe)/ Muhabura Hotel (Budget)
Day 2: Golden monkey trekking or Dian fossey hike
After breakfast, you will head into the forest together with the park rangers in search for the Golden monkeys. This also rewards views of other primates such as the Angolan colobus, black and white colobus monkeys among others. Or you may choose to visit the Karisoke research center for a hike to the Dian fossey tombs. After lunch, you will have a nature walk to the twin lakes. Dinner and overnight at Mountain gorilla view lodge (Luxury)/ La Palme Hotel (Deluxe)/ Muhabura Hotel (Budget)
Day 3: Gorilla trekking and cultural walk
After breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters to be briefed about the gorilla trekking adventure. Later you will start off the search of these gentle giants which will take about 2-6 hours depending on the movement of gorillas in their natural habitat. Meet and stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour as you enjoy how they interact with each other, mothers grooming the young ones among others. Later return for a cultural tour to the Banyarwanda people and explore more about their unique culture. Return for dinner and overnight stay at Mountain gorilla view lodge (Luxury)/ La Palme Hotel (Deluxe)/ Muhabura Hotel (Budget)
Day 4: Kigali city tour and Departure
After breakfast, you will transfer to Kigali for a city tour. Visit the Genocide memorial grounds, museum, local markets among others and later transfer to the airport for your flight if on schedule.
